Hello Friends and Family,
The Summer is in full swing and so is the Global Student Program (GSP) in Colorado Springs. There are 30 students from eight countries (Holland, Congo, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, Mexico, and the U.S.) and four continents represented in the Springs. The students are broken up into 7 Bible studies. The Bible study leaders (pictured below) and I have an amazing privilege of seeing God work in great ways in our students. The program is an intensive training time meant to accomplish what would usually take an entire year of discipling students in just two months.
In my study I have two students. Chiko Mercado is from Mexico and Todani Justice is from South Africa. Yesterday we were sitting together discussing a Bible Study on King Saul and King David. We got into a discussion about trusting God no matter what happens versus being overcome by fear. I asked the question how do you typically face the Goliaths or giants in your life. We had a great discussion about what fear does in our lives and how we often bow to our fears instead of trusting God. Todani in the middle of the discussion had an Epiphany. He said that if we embrace our fears and bring them to God we allow the blood of Jesus to cover us and release us from the lies of the world and allow us to draw closer to the Father. I saw the relief on his face as the realization came to him. That is my prayer for myself and for all of you.
