“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”2 Corinthians 5:17. Spring time is officially here! It often serves as a great reminder of how God makes all things new and restores what was once dead to life! What a great reminder of who our God is.
Here’s a quick update of what God is doing at UNC:
Ben started an Investigative Bible Conversation (IBC) in Wiebking Hall (a dorm on the UNC Campus). The goal of the IBC is to invite people who do not know God to investigate what the Bible says about who Jesus is. We create a safe and open environment where students can feel free to share what they believe and to genuinely search the Word together. It is very exciting to see God’s Word start to work in the hearts of people who read it (Hebrews 4:12). Please pray for the students that have been attending this semester. We have an average of five students show up every week. Pray that God’s Word would be at work in their hearts and that the door would open for us to share the Gospel with them this year.
We just returned from our annual Spring Break trip that took us just south of Bowling Green, KY. We took 48 students to a summer camp that brings inner city youth to the woods of KY with the purpose of sharing the Gospel with them. The camp needed lots of help doing maintenance and construction projects to get the camp ready for the summer. We also took a group of students to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN to do some initiative evangelism on the campus. One student, Chandler, came back from his time encouraged and very excited to share his faith back home. He told me he hadn’t shared his faith before and was encouraged to see how God spoke through him to the students he spoke with. He told me he was excited and nervous to share his faith with a number of friends back at UNC. Please pray for Chandler as he begins to share his faith with his friends at school. Pray that he would be bold and encouraged as he shares.
Thank you all for your love, support, and your prayers. We are very blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for all you do for our family and the students at UNC!
